Any chance you will offer a tune to go along with the CAI, headers and exhaust that maintains warranty?

Would a GMPP cam have an affect on the factory warranty...forgive me if this seems to be a ridiculous question.

Are you speaking from a position of authority or experience? I just want to qualify any responses.
The reason I ask is that for BMW's, Dinan parts installed by dealers do not void the warranty. In a manner of speaking they do, but it's transparent to the consumer. I would think that GMPP would have some sort of arrangement in order to promote the sale/installation of their parts. If the warranty is void, then it really offers me very little benefit to buy from GMPP....or I'm missing what the benefit is. |

but the transmission still wont be covered aswell as the rest of the drive train due to any damage "caused" by the added power

That's why aftermarket installs need to be done meticulously and by someone who will take the time and money to install supporting mods.

one of robin's other posts. really what determines what will be covered and what wont is how invasive the instal will be, you get deeper into the motor and it is more and more likely it will break warranty. that being said i personally see NO way that this drive train doesn't take the brute force added by the gmpp hot cam. and with the reliabilty of LS series engines i see very low chances anyone will ever have an engine problem.

I'm doing some research....and here's what I've found:
For a GMPP supercharger (not LS3)... "The GM Performance Parts supercharger kit is on sale now. It costs about $3,500 and carries a product warranty for defects in material and workmanship for a period of 12 months or 12,000 miles from date of installation. GM will also cover the internally lubricated engine and transmission components for the length of the original factory powertrain warranty. And if the vehicle is already off factory warranty, the additional powertrain warranty that comes with the kit still applies, depending on the age and actual mileage of the vehicle at the time of the blower's installation. Source http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/fe...est/index.html I also read on another forum (unqualified source) that if the part is marked 'off road use only' that's the indicator that it will void factory warranty. I'd really like to hear someone from GMPP chime in on this topic. |
