Driveshafts are uaually around 900 for this car. This is an old thread, I don't think the threat of broken DS' is really a concern anymore.

I actually just received my new drive shaft from the drive shaft shop. Broke all three bolts an it hit my heat shield and gas tank in the process. I didn't want to mess with constantly changing my bolts.

k32, what do you mean no threat of broken ds?
and vador, what did it run ya if you dont mind me asking and did they just look at the car and old shaft and fabricate it?
im also curios if its just kinda eliminating the rubber pieces so why wouldnt the bolts from new shaft to trans and diff just snap??
and one more for ya Vador, did it puncture the gas tank?

Not sure yet it was dark and started raining on us before we can look at the tank. Heat shield was pretty messed up on the gas tank.We didn't have a lift. The driveshaft shop already had one design setup cost 952 that includes shipping and everything. Driveshaft bolts broke then it moved for a little and slashed away at anything it could because its a two piece.

Yeah. Think they were loosening over time. I had a vibration in the back for awhile an no one could pin point it.there was vibration after 75 mph for awhile. Think the got loose and bent over time.

haha now i get it
ok so what is preventing the bolts from a solid driveshaft to the rear yoke and trans output shaft from snapping just like they did when connected to the rubber cuppler????? because now you have no "give" id expect something has to break?
i ended up getting some same grade bolts from a fastner shop in kelowna seems to be working fine for now the dealership said there was none in canada and had to wait 2 weeks!!! EFF that Sheet!!!!
