I received an email from Chevy promoting the Camaro. They actually state....
"Which one will you choose? It's available in a V6 with 304 hp and an estimated 27 MPG highway2 or in an SS, which generates 426 hp and goes from 0 to 60 in 4.7 seconds."

Soooooooooooo, are they just teasing us with SS performance numbers or has someone actually tested???????

4.7 is a huge dissapointment considering the G8's numbers. Also, note that the new Mustang can go 4.9 loaded...

Yes I noticed this as well. I thought I was the only one for a bit. 4.7 is not bad at all but I believe magazines will get better numbers if they were able to get 4.6 with the GXP. Just my 2 cents.

Got the same e-mail yesterday. If it is accurate it's the manual tranny cause it said 426 HP. The Auto should be a little off of that. Up or down.

What does the Corvette do? 4.3? Given the 600 pound weight difference, it's not that suprising.

I thought the number was right in line with all the speculation and previous threads. I was suprised to see it in writing from GM and really surprised there were no threads about it on this forum.
Anywhooooo, if they are releasing numbers now, it won't be long for the mags to come out with reviews and numbers.
BTW.......I'm OK with a car that costs thousands more running the same 0-60. This car looks fast just sitting there and if we want to mod, we have a big-ol V8 sitting there waiting. YAHOOOOOO

It's a little disappointing since 4.6 was the time that was quoted for the pre-pro by Bob Lutz I believe.. So since then it lost .1 seconds when we were all speculating it could have improved to 4.5...

I can't see how you guys can be happy when we were given 4.6. If anything, that time should have gone down, not up.

lol..I'm not worried about this.. 4.7 or 4.6..whatever.. However usually the fastest possible time is the one that is boasted about and the pre-pro did get 4.6 0-60..
