If I was unable to return or exchange I would likely sell them to recoup money and buy the correct offset wheels...elsewhere.

Completely agree

Well that seems the route to go then. If I understood what you said above, that material is already there from the factory and then they are milled per the requested offset? $100 is really not bad at all.

As long as you are satisfied with the end result and are safe on the road, that's all that matters, right? Let us know how it turns out and post some pics.

I hate to bring this up but I showed you what to expect in your other thread. I don't know if you seen it. I said expect about 1" more than my pic.

I totally agree with InFiD3ViL and 1JEWLDSSRS. Can't mess with the rims. It would have been nice of the shop that sold them to you let you know the offsets. In any case, my first rim change was just cosmetic and I bit the bullet for ones that I liked better and sold the first set but in the name of safety, I'd worry about milling them(I never knew you could do that either).

One of the things I would be concerned about in milling them at a machine shop. Do they have the correct equipment to "stabilize" the wheels on a large enough platform to insure the wheel is sitting FLAT and FLUSH, so that when they do mill them they don't get milled unevenly, and end up with the wheel mounting pad being uneven, and you end up with a wobble. THAT would not be nice to have happen. Then you would have RUINED the wheels. I've seen it happen. Just a thought. Machine shops usually are not set up to do large items like that. I used to work in one. Good luck..

Agreed. Most machine shops are not going to have a lathe big enough to fit that wheel. No way you are going to get this right using a mill.

Another thing,

The lug nuts fit in the current setup with stock studs right? Studs will have to be shortened due to the less thickness, and now any other wheel will not work. I guess you could use an open lug nut, but that won't look good.

Nothing wrong with a COMPETENT machinist cutting the face of the flange. When a wheel comes out of the mold they get machined to spec. I believe I read elsewhere in the thread that the manufacturer stated that they start with X dimension and machine to lessen the offset to the outside. Normal procedure.

Give it some time considering you mounted them. I personally think these cars benefit with a wider stance in the back.

I have American Racing AR920’s, the rears are 10.5 with 40mm offset. I’m running stock profile tires.
