This is pretty damn cool. But I think ford should have left this on the concept table and not brought to production. Some things are supposed to be aftermarket upgrades. Maybe the 2016's will come with a Nitrous Purge (purge only) Kit?

It's still a cool idea though.

Like for real's, why is this even on this car? Douche bag mustang owners can now achieve douche bag status even easier now. I see no point in this, it doesn't improve the car in any way, just allows people to ruin street tires faster. "for use on a race track"...."racing will void your warranty". This is just some smoke and mirrors to build hype and sell a few cars, total marketing BS...

Right, it's a sports car, so your telling me that the z/28 which was designed for the track, if you race it and the engine implodes, Chevy can fold their arms. Yeah ok. Don't design products for certain uses, then when being used for it's designed purpose, not stand behind it when it breaks.

This is bs, if you use it then warranty is void. They will look on CPU to see if it is used & then you are SOL when your axels break.

I think it's pretty sweet, but should have left as an option or only on the boss (if they made it) and the Shelby.

This feature is great with slicks or drag type tires with tread. It is a waste with street tires in my opinion. I promise you I am eating my good years coming out of corners, not doing damned burnouts. This product will excite people, and probably sell cars. If a person buys a Mustang over a Camaro because of this feature, they are pretty unknowledgable about cars.

That's what I was thinking, how much did Firestone or whomever (insert tire manufacturer) pay Ford to list these as an option?

Why would you need it on a boss (made for turning) or a Shelby (it has street tires)?

You do not need this crap unless you're modified for drag racing, and at that point I would install an aftermarket (probably better) system.

Only other reason to have this is if you're a douchbag...

On second thought, it does belong on the mustang.

How many people who buy mustangs, camaros and challengers actually race these more than a few times a year? I'd say less than 10%. This is a great feature designed to help both sides of the spectrum of owners get more enjoyment out of their car.

Its obvious that you're dislike for mustangs is strong, but you're being a bit ridiculous.

The second page of this thread is awesome.

I don't care either way, offered or not, but if this was touted on a Camaro would everyone be talking about how stupid and douchey it is?

Some serious fanboyism in here. Intense even for the Other Automotive section.
