Customer just had his bone stock GT500 dyno's at a shop that does a ton of Camaros. Damn thing laid down 629whp, same as their stg.4 ZL1.
I was shocked. Got to go for a ride also, and that new launch control works way better than I thought it could.
They weigh the same as an SS roughly.
I know the ZL1 spanks the Shelby on most tracks, but holy hell a street light experience would be very humbling indeed.

That's the highest number I have seen yet. A few over at the SVT forum have been in the high teens and one may have broken the 620 mark. In general they seem to be between 580-615 depending on the dyno. The question is can the driver launch all that HP without a smokeshow?

That's great power for a stock car. Chevy needs to put the ls9 in the zl1.

Why? It wouldn't help in a straight line compared to the GT500.

That's great power for any car. Many full on race cars don't have that kind of power.

10s is pretty slow these days for a "race car"

I would agree that 10s isnt as fast as it used to be, but its still pretty damn fast haha.

I would concur that 9.99 and faster is a pretty fast race car

600rwhp is not exactly a race car but it does make a good street beast.

There are all kinds of "race" cars that have under 662HP in many classes in this world. HP along does no make a race car.
