Hurst short throw shifter or Airaid CAI?

If you had the option to get a Hurst short throw shifter or an Airaid intake for your manual transmission V6, which would you choose first and why?

Cost isn't really part of the question, as they are roughly the same price.

Airaid CAI because the added 14ftlbs of torque feels sweet plus im quite used to my shifter after 1500 miles. It feels much smoother now with some breakin miles on it.

Definitely intake. Performance gains are worth more than a shifter.

Does anyone have any independent testing to show this? Jannetty Racing did a shootout of CAIs for the V8s and the biggest torque gain of any of the CAIs tested was 10 ft/lbs... Airaid came in at 6 ft/lbs... I doubt the the V6 would show more of a gain than the V8...

Jannetty results:

Does anyone else see a pattern forming here?
We get quite a lot of buzz on modification-a or b, then we all agree to wait for documentation on the performance gains and they never seem to appear.
We are waiting for info on several exhaust systems, headers, cai's, etc.
Then again, perhaps it's just me...

I've done two "self" mods... both have been dyno'd... LOL! Still not sure what CAI to go with but will dyno that too.... I buy dyno time in bulk! LOL!

Blonde or Brunette? Both satisfy. Good luck with your choice!

I'm on the wait for the Cold Air Inductions intake kit I ordered and I just ordered my Hurst shifter today..... It's only money.
I drove a Camaro with this shifter and I had to have it after the first shift from 2nd to 3rd. although power is good! 50/50

"Seat of the pants" tells me there is a gain. Im not going to put my car on a dyno so I cant say for sure. I just threw out the number given by Airaid. Maybe one of you that goes to the drag strip can confirm

drag strip has a lot of variables... best thing would be to do a test like Jannetty...

That being said will hopefully get to the track at least one more time before they close for the season... hmmmmmm... LOL
