Not quite,

The SRT is getting the N/A 392 ci. ~ 500 HP. No FI.

I've been as patient as a Franciscan monk for my "Z". I hope that the "Z" will be more of a "track" monster!!! I plan on racing HER (out of love) at Mont Tremblant. My son is 10 years old and he is excited as me. So come on GM built it already......"I'm dyin' over here.....I'm dyin'..." Dog Day Afternoon

The GT500 isn't even really "Ford." It is a Shelby, sold under Ford.

The GT350 is a package from a Mustang GT.

I'm really confused why everyone would think that Chevy would create a version of the Camaro that would directly compete with the Corvette.
In my opinion this is because Ford has no equivalent to the Corvette, that is the reason they offer the GT500, and because it got so much hype from the movie gone in 60 seconds. "IF" there is a Z/28 I think it's gonna be a turbocharged version of the V6. This only makes sense because it will add another Camaro to the lineup and not compete with the Corvette.

Nothing wrong with that, I'll take an SS.

Fail. The GT500 is all Ford, designed and engineered by SVT and produced on the same assembly line as the base and GT Mustangs. The car does bear Shelby's name, however, as he was a consultant on the project and signed a marketing deal with Ford that allows them to use the nomenclature. Nobody from Shelby American ever touches a GT500.

and you can fit 4 people in a corvette and enough luggage for a week long trip easily. . .yep. I don't understand why they would fail at the heritage of the Z28 in such a way. but that's just me. if the Z28 came as a twin turbo v-6 IE like the jay leno car I'd call BS. turbos add weight and the V-6 and SS weights aren't that far apart to begin with. so what's to be gained by doing so?

I would love to see a N/A LS7, I would be willing to pay the price difference for that. And maybe some other cosmetic details and interior details that were optional so you can add and remove the stuff you do/don't want. That would be awesome.

Those brakes look awesome, they just need to add some bigger drilled and slotted rotors to the mix...

Wishful thinking from a guy annoyed his SS won't be top dog once the Super Charged V8 Z28 comes out.
