NEED TO VENT
I know some of you don't want to read this nor care, but I have to vent before I blow a gasket!!! Here's the situation....my wife and I are driving along a dark country-ish road in her new 2011 Honda Accord EX-L V-6. BAM...deer jumps on the damn car.
Damage: need a new hood, fender, grille, bumper, radiator, and condensor. I pick up the car (fixed at the Honda dealer we bought the car) it was raining so I couldn't assess the repair for any issues. Car goes into garage, next morning: I start to look at the repairs......scratches all over the hood, fenders, paint doesn't match, they put in the wrong grille and the front bumper is off the 4 cylinder base model not the V-6. I called the manager explained my issues and his reply: bring it back in 4-6 days to let the paint set up, we need to buff it with a foam pad. He goes on to state, the foam pad will make the paint match...REALLY...I call bullshit on that, the bumper and grill is the exact same that came off it...REALLY...bullshit. By the way, I wrote down all the original numbers for the parts to be replaced before I took it in to the shop. I compared all the numbers before I called him and told him they were not the same parts and his reply: we order our parts from Honda USA, those part numbers are from Honda Japan....REALLY does it look like I have ****ing stupid on my forehead? Again I say bullshit!!!!!. Why can't repair shops fix cars right the first time with the correct parts? Damn, it really isn't rocket science. Too top it all off, my insurance was covering the damage. One would think they would want to put the more expensive parts on it for more money from the insurance.....duh Now Monday I have to hold my composure together as I confront the manager, show him pictures as well as the CORRECT part numbers and demand for the car to be fixed again....RIGHT!!!!!! OK I am done venting now.....

Not sure if if is in your policy but some insurance policy's will only pay for the cheaper parts. I found out that on mine in the fine print.

I thought that too so I called my agent (very good friend) and he called me back about an hour and said he could not find anything as far as using cheaper or less superior parts.

Damn! Man I am sorry to hear,it seems like they never get it right the first time. Then they want to be lazy and make you seem like your stupid. I just dislike how people are sometime, they have no respect for you nor your stuff. I'd say go get it fix at a collision center I always hear better commenrs then dealers.

Hindsight - I would have never picked up the car without being able to do an inspection. The last time I went through this I battled with my insurance company because they wanted to put on refurb parts and I said NO!...I won that battle but in the end my rates got raised.

I understand where you are coming from, it sucks man how those guys try and pull stunts like that.Did you do your homework check this place out before you took it there, just to see if our customers had the same issues.
I would have gone over it with a fine tooth comb and if it is as bad as you say, it would have stayed on the lot until it was fixed properly.Alot of those bogymen is want-a-b's
