Are the Cicadas out and singing yet?

Keep your windows closed kiddies! I do believe it is that time again. Word has it some of the males are coming out on the east coast and a full on biblical plague of a swarm is soon to follow.

For all you bikers and Vert pilots be advised....if a Cicada flies down a woman's cleavage you are authorized to assist in freeing that critter!

DISCLAIMER: Just to be on the safe side boys you might want to ask for permission before attempting a rescue.

That is all.

Yuck. I hate cicadas. We have some time in Cincinnati before another "invasion" of the 17 year kind, but I always hear them in the trees. GROSS.

From what I read in the paper these are supposed to be the red-eyed cicadas and the estimates are 30 billion to 1 trillion of them maybe lurking underground. and another fun fact is that there are atleast 12 different broods so its not really 17 years its 17 years since that brood swarmed so could have one every 5 to 7 years possibly.

I like them. Hoping for a "bumper crop" this time, but with the excessive development going on around my neighborhood, I'm sure the numbers will be down.

They're just out looking for a girlfriend is all. Mother nature really dealt them a bad hand. The poor devils can never catch a break.

Yeah out here we get them around every 10 years or so. If I head out to the sticks it gets real bad. I've seen so many on the road that the pavement will get almost as bad as ice and I've seen a few cars losing paint on the front running through a swarm on the expressway at speed.

Some of my biker friends have had to run for cover completely coated in bug guts.
