Not entirely true, the kicker is that you have a clean record. Geico gives amazing rates as long as your record is clean, but get a ticket and watch what happens. I had Geico when I was 18, but I got an 8 over ticket and Geico hiked my rates from $97/mo to $152/mo. Thats a big hike for a small ticket, switching to USAA brought my rate back to $105/mo.

IMO, the best insurance companies to deal with are USAA and Nationwide. I've dealt with State Farm, Geico and Progressive also.

what is your deductible? = $500
who is your company? = USAA
what is your age? = 44
what is annual cost? = $562

I have everything with USAA, that is what gets you great rates along with a good driving record, and above average credit rating!!! Location, location, and location big part!!!!!

I know there are alot of variables, but it seems my insurance is high based on the way the company has a symbol for every vehicle. They say the symbol reflects performance and replacement cost for parts. All vehicles have one.
Look at your policy declaration, you should have one too.

Here are my facts:
Age 40
Clean driving record
No accidents
500 deductibles
Defensive driving every 3 years

I have 5 vehicles on the policy.
08 silverado-mine-work-symbol 16-$1000
04 monte carlo-mine-pleasure-symbol 14-$622
10 camaro-mine-pleasure vehicle-symbol 20-$1250
02 monte carlo-wifes-pleasure-symbol 15-$553
01 blazer s10-wifes-work-symbol 11-$524

Also homeowners thru same company for a discount, so they say.

I just think the $1250 is high when I see others paying under $1000 a year and a couple even lower. My friend has a 09 challenger and pays $750 a year. I should be under $1000 I would think.

NY has ridiculous rates though, comparing on here wont help you. Call a few insurance companies (or go online) and get quotes, all this information on here wont help you really.

Yeah, I got all my quotes online. It only takes a few minutes per company to fill out the form and the quote is ready in a couple seconds.

what is your deductible?

what is your age?
what is annual cost?

I am trying to figure out if I should be shopping around for something better. I am 40, have a clean record and a policy with multiple cars(5) and home owners with the same company and I feel I am paying too much for my camaro.

I appreciate any feedback before I call and talk with them.
I didn't read the other replys but...

I am married, 32 wife is 26, I have 2 speeding tickets 2 years ago.
5 cars, 2 with liability only - DDs mine (1992 Wrangler), hers (1998 Civic)
3 with full coverage - (2010 2SSRS M6, 1989 IROC 350, 2006 Ram Diesel)

Camaro is about $100 a month, My 2007 C6 that i sold was only about $70 a month go figure! Total policy for all 5 cars is abotu $215 a month. Camaor is pricey!

I am 40. I have state farm insurance. I only have cars insured with the
I do not have my house or any other thing with them. I have a 2006 caravan, 2008 odyssey, and I just added my 2ss m6 with them. Ihace $500 deductable. My insurance is $366 every 6 months. I think this is a steal. I own a body shop. We repaired over 900 cars last year alone. State farm is the BEST. Insure it with a major company. I hate Traverlers, Geico, Progressive and all the companies that you see over and over on the TV. My choices based on how they handle claims are State Farm, USAA. Allstate, Farm Bureau and Nationwide. Hope this helps. Brian

what do you guys have as bodily harm liability coverage though?

my dad won't let me get any policy with less than 300,000 in bodily harm liability to third parties...see i had been quoted at 185 by GEICO for a policy but that was only with like 30,000 in liability coverage and i'm not going to expose myself like that...and he was the one who set up the policy for me so i have to pay this one for at least 6 months and then i'll see if i find a better one.

thanks for your recommendations everyone
