Skip Shift
So....
After not triggering the skip shift for 300 miles, I decided I didn't need to watch for it. Two stop lights in a row this morning I coudln't shift into second...it freaked me out. I am glad I ordered the eliminator from apex. I think I will be getting that in this week. |

I noticed the same thing with my car, the skip shift would not work consistantly. I put a skip shift eliminator on and had a hard time making sure it worked because I couldn't get the skip shift to activate. It used to be the skip shift notice would show up on the DIC until I hit like 2500RPM, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.
When you put the skip shift eliminator on the skip shift notice will appear on the DIC but you can put it into 2nd gear. Russ |

If you are having an issue with reverse then you in all likelihood have it plugged in to the reverse lock out solenoid instead of the CAGS solenoid. This is a pretty common error. The CAGS solenoid is located on the drivers side towards the top of the transmission in the case. It is kind of out of the way. Looseness with your shifter would not be related to the skip shift eliminator. It does not change anything mechanically.

I see 3 solenoids - the picture seem to show the one at the tail end of the trans. The other is mid trans on the side and one 1/3 from front of trans near the top, is that the one?
