Finally got the jl stealthbox install done with 500/1 amp. Sounds great but need to figure out how to stop my rearview mirror from shaking so bad, cant even use it.

You should add the remote bass control like I am doing. It's a single knob control you can mount up front and allows you to adjust the boost of the subwoofer. It plugs into the JL amp (there is a phone plug jack for it). Also, check the settings on the amp. Infrasonic filter should be on, freq at 30. Bass EQ to ON. "Q" at 1.6, center freq to 60. Amp LP filter to 12db. Filter freq to 80.
Hope this helps.

did you use a line input off of one of the back speakers as your source?

Really nice setup. If you dont mind me asking, how much did the stealth, amp and install run you? They did a nice job with the amp. I want to get that done for my car too.

Thx!

Comments on your J.L. Audio Subwoofer Amp Install

I also recently purchased the J.L. Audio Stealthbox with single 12” subwoofer & the 500/1v2 monoblock subwoofer amplifier for my Summit White Camaro 2SS/RS. I’m doing my own install and appreciate your installation photos. I have the system hooked up & running. My amp is currently sitting on the floor of the trunk & I like the location of your amp inside the trunk, under the the rear window panel speaker deck. Your photos indicate the your amp is mounted horizontally, upside down. The amp installation manual rates that as “Fair” for cooling efficiency. Installing the amp horizontally, right side up, is rated “Good” for cooling efficiency. You may want to question the installer as to his/her reason for installing the amp in a less desirable position for heat dissipation. Perhaps he/she liked being able to view the three indicator lights on the top of the amp by having them face down towards the floor of the trunk, rather than up where they would be difficult or impossible to see, since they would be very close the rear window speaker panel. Excessive heat build-up can lead to degraded performance of the amp, according to J.L. Audio. My preference will be to install the amp in the same location as yours but with the amp right side up & with the controls/switches/wiring side of the amp facing towards the back of the vehicle so I have direct access to that side of the amp and can view it from the rear of the vehicle. Your installer opted to install the controls/switches/wiring side of the amp facing forward, possibly to better hide the wiring from view & to shorten the wiring runs.
