McLeod RXT clutch is da' bomb.
Fellahs, as I've modified my 2SS from stock to where it's at now (running in the tens in the quarter mile) newer clutches have been necessary.
The stock clutch was swapped out within the first six weeks of ownership; it was replaced with a Finacchi (spelling is relative here) which I spun at the track to the point it had to be rebuilt along Clutch Master lines. The leg effort pushin' the clutch in was always high, and the squeek of the ceramic disc engaging, as well as the narrow engagement range, took some time to get familiar with. Friends who were allowed to drive my car all remarked that it wasn't so easy to drive. Of course, the tall cam surging and the low end boost of the twin screw KB blower contributed to this as well. Now that the car is makin' 708 HP at the rear wheel on 114 octane Av-gas, a further upgrade was needed since the second clutch was no longer doin' its proper thing. I bought a McLeod RXT double disc ceramic clutch. I don't know yet how well it'll do on the strip since I'm takin' it hella easy for the first 400 miles until it's set, or some would say broken in. But it sure as hell is easier to drive. The clutch effort is the smallest I've ever experienced in any vehicle I've ever driven. The engagement is low on the pedal travel; one can almost keep one's heel on the floor as one engages and disengages it. It's claimed to be strong enough to hold the torque of a car pushin' 1000 HP at the rear wheel. I may well find that out myself as I continue to mod the car. Please report back after you hit the track. I'll be looking for beefier clutch in spring... have KB making similar power.

Thanks for the review, I'm considering this clutch as well, just trying to justify the expense over a high quality single.

I had the McLeod RXT and was over 1000rwhp and it still drove better than stock and held all the power. I have posted numerous times about how awesome these clutches are. You made the best choice IMO.

I shall undoubtably pass the "breaking in" period for my new McLeod RXT clutch sometime tomorrow evening; I'm doin' some off and on the freeway drivin' up to Berkeley, CA and back this week-end. I'll tell y'all how it holds when pushin' it at the drag strip as soon as the opportunity arises, prolly next Thursday night at Irwindale, CA.

I have the Mantic 9000 twin disk clutch and like you I was pleasantly surprised at how much easier a twin is to use than the stock clutch. I was thinking because it had 2 disks instead of one that it was going to take more pedal effort but it was just the opposite. I'm not running the high hp you are so I didn't go with the ceramic facing, I chose the organic but the improvement in clutch feel was amazing. It's smooth, clean, precise and very linear; no sudden grabbing. I just crossed the 500 mile break-in point on mine but so far I'm very happy with it.
If anyone is hesitating getting a twin because they think it's going to be harder to drive don't give it a second thought; they're great! Here's some pictures of mine on my project thread in case anyone wants to see how a twin looks compared to the stock clutch: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=45165&page=10 I chose the Mantic because of the weight savings but I've heard nothing but good about McLeod.

Its posted in the 1/4 mile thread but is very lame for what this car is capable of as the fastest pass I made was without a trans brake, the trans wouldnt shift and the methanol system was screwed up. That was also with the F1R and I have now rebuilt my entire engine, gone with the F2, added a nice nitrous system and installing the new Holley Dominator EFI system. This year I am going all out and have not overlooked any part and have every safety measure in place and will now come down getting everything dialed in.
