Camaro throwing a P0449 code after just 54,000 miles FIXED

I've got a used 2010 camaro I've put 18000 miles on in 2 years. I've already had warranty work done about a year ago for an oil leak. Now this code comes up today. I've read that the code can be a canister, electric circuit malfunction or a solenoid in the tank. Same place I got warranty work done wants $105 just to diagnose the problem. I've read this is a very common problem. Yet its not recall worthy. I'm getting frustrated with this car.

2 years, 2 problems? Don't ever buy a BMW if you think that's bad.

I won't take the required douche driving class to buy a bmw. I've got this habit of using my turn signals and not jumping in and out of traffic.

I had a Toyota Camry that didn't have one problem in 14 years.

Your solution after you have it repaired is to stop topping your fuel tank up.

When that gas pump shuts off your car is full,do not keep adding more.

Just FYI... The part number is 92226690 VENT Solenoid. Is above rear axle. The PURGE solenoid is under the hood. Both can trigger the same code.

Correct. I had this done this past November. Fortunately the tech only had to drop the exhaust to access the canister. The procedure calls for dropping the rear cradle to get to it. This part was redesigned on later models. It is still above the axle but instead of replacing the canister, you can just replace the sensor. Makes it easier to get to it as well.

I've read you drop the fuel tank, but its not necessary. My buddy who put on my axel back said hed do this for me.
Dealership wants $105 to diagnose the problem and worse case scenario 5-600 to replace the one above the tank.

I've heard some people doing it without dropping the subframe.

from my experience doing it. I just don't think I could get my hands in there to remove it.

But I can confirm no need to drop the fuel tank.
there is one plastic clip on the vent valve that is a pain in the ass to remove.
can't imagine doing it while the canister is installed.
not a difficult job... just time consuming.
