That "late 2011" rumour should be sunk, mainly because it's stupid. Who would release a friggin 556hp RWD car in friggin winter? Gimme a friggin break!
It's summer 2011 just like the Camaro SS/V6s.

Not to sink your ship, but their is a couple of things. First, this is GM, not all of their ideas are great ones. Second, I took a vist a local Cheverolet dealership(Tatly Cheverolet Morris, Il) couple weeks ago. They informed me that they will be releasing the Convertible Camaros in the time frame of October. Around here, October doesn't always have the best weather. So, what does that tell you?

Well the 2010s came out in March. Honestly, I don't care when the Z comes out, as long as its out in front of my house a couple months after production begins.

you do realize that for decades, the new years model would hit the showroom floors in Sept. of the previous year. with the camaro (and a lot of cars this day and age), they started production a little early. 2010 camaro for sale in Mar of 09.... speaking of which.... isnt it about the anniversary of the 2010 camaro production start date?

To make things weirder, my fiancée's birthday is September 29th. In 1966, that was the release of the 1967 Camaro. My birthday, April 10th, this year is the last day to order a 2010 Camaro. When I lived in college with my wedding's best man, we lived in apartment F5. Is the Camaro not like a 5th F-body? I was meant to drive a Camaro.

I don't care when it comes out. I have not purchased the 2SS/RS because I always hoped they would release the Z28. It WILL be mine.

People do things because people don't think. Ever wonder why people make crappy movies? Because they don't have attention to detail and they just don't think.
We can avoid this by providing feedback. We know that GM reads these forums, so we should keep perpetuating the expectation of a summer 2011 release. At the very least, if they never thought about it before, they may think "oh yeah, I guess that makes sense". If we don't set them straight and keep saying "late 2011", some sleepy GM exec may just bring it out at the end of 2011 because he never used his brain.
