Probably was getting a ton of spark knock, and the ecm kicked it into reduced power mode ... and all the lights. Could be some bad gas, combined with the CAI... that direct injection is already quite lean in some conditions.
I'd put the stock box back on, a fresh tank of premium, and see if that crinkling sound goes away. |

I have a SS (auto) and I have noticed if I jump on it from a dead stop you'll hear the engine rpm jump but then seems to disengage from the trans. Like the computer takes the power off and then applies the power to the wheels as it wants.
Thing is I didn't notice before adding my CAI. Is this normal action for the Stabilitrak and Traction Control? I don't even want the OP had happpen.

I had that Engine Power Reduced situation a couple months back.
My car had no power at all. A ford Pinto was probably faster at that time. It wouldnt start and the engine doesn't crank. But after LOTS of try to turn it on it did. I drove it on the exspress way to the dealer and it would barely go 60mph! A week and a half later at the dealer they called and said that all my wiring was fried?? |

the service stabilitrack is a general "there is a problem" note...
i had the dealer do some work on my car, they had to remove the ADM race intake and when they put it back together they put the maf sensor harness through a hole with a bolt and it cut through some of the wires... the Service stabilitrack notice came on... i think that warning just comes on when ever there is a problem with the motor...

that's the problem with some dealers....when there is a problem and they see an after-market stuff that has to do with induction, they assume it is the cause. It is the easiest route to take especially if they don't know or have the time to properly troubleshoot.
