Yeah, as said above, you may want to rethink that GT500, unless they are like that GT driver and well, can't drive.......

This may be a Camaro forum, but we aren't stupid. The new GT500 is ridiculously good if you like drag racing (road courses are up for debate). I want one!

....Did the 5.0 launch in 3rd?

It not brand new. Either 2010-11 GT 500. He spins a lot from stop but from a roll hehas me. Yes those GT-500 ate fast I just wanna beat him. He told me he has the one with 540bhp from factory. He has a tune, performance mufflers from ford I believe. I got Lt, cai, tune and abt to cam it. I know I need a can to hang with him. I like goin n/a. So save money up for heads, vmax tb. If I don't beat him with that I will put turbos on the camaro.

That 5.0 I raced was stock like my SS at the time. We both were running street tires. Both m6 transmission. Yes it was driver error on both ends. My 60ft was 2.20 if I get it lower I should have run a 12.9 or 13.0 probably. Yes track conditions were terrible but its still a win. So I'm ready for a cam now. Shooting for low 12s.

Yes I know exactly what my competition runs stock I just find it funny that it was a bad driver. 5.0 are lighter and actually put down more power than the camaros. I just gotta cut sum weight on the SS and increase power to beat the GT-500. To bad the kid never got better than 13.5s. I gotta work on my 60ft time now.

I seriously doubt that... the GT500 carries almost 20mph MORE trap speed then a bolt-on SS does.

What that means is, even with a shitty launch, hes got more then enough top-end to run us down. I know from personal experience

i raced a fully built mmr 2011 mustang last weekend. in my cam , bolton car with about 300lb of weight reduction. he got me off the line by a car or 1 1/2 . by the out i started pulling on him and by the 1000' i was bumper to bumper and ended up beating him by 1/2 or more. it was a non timed event. i accually raced him 3 diff times and beat him every time but that race he had me off the line . the other 2 were close off the line and i won by 2-3 cars.
i raced a gt500 when i was full weight and about 15 less hp but on a 75 shot and it was close . i mean close. 100 shot i pulled him slowly
