Oil Analysis
I just changed my oil. Went with Redline 5w-30 in preparation for 2 track days 2 weeks from now. I ordered a Blackstone kit to get a UOA on my Valvoline SynPower 5w-30 sample with one track day.
I think it might be useful for LSA guys to start getting and/or sharing UOA data. I'm going to share my results of the Valvoline and Redline. Anyone else run any samples? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'd speculate that most with these cars change oil well before actually required. As a result, I would expect to see oil analysis result support this.

I think Blueclyde is correct on this. I just changed my 5000 mi. Synthetic oil after only 2000 mi. I have always changed it with less than 3000, maybe overdone a little but I like clean oil.

Yeah, I'm changing mine after 800 miles but it has a track day on it so I'm curious given the temps the oil sees. If I was just driving to work and back I wouldn't be as curious how the oil is holding up.

I went to the dealership the other day to get the oil changed. They wanted to put a blend into my car. I told them the salesman promised me 2 years/25000 miles full synthetic. I guess Gm recently changed the oil requirements for the Lsa engine to only require a blend as a cost cutting savings idea. He tried to show me on paper this new plan, I said to him, the car has been using full synthetic since its birth, not going to swap it out on me now. They put mobil 1 in happy. I am posting this in case other dealership try playing the same game with others.
