Seriously thinking of switching........

to a 2009 G8 GT.

We were origianlly going to get a 09 G8, but when we saw that the Camaro was a go; we were in.

The Camaro reminds me of my 69 Z28 that I bought new. OTOH, the G8 reminds me of the mid 60's muscle cars such as Chevelle SS, GTO, 442 etc.
I had a 66 SS396 and a 65 442. My SS was marina blue.

Tonight we went cruising other dealers' lots, and lo and behold, a stryker blue G8 GT. My wife fell in love with it.

Estimating my dealership employee price PLUS the rebate plus lease loyalty and owner loyalty rebates, I can actually buy the G8 GT cheaper than the 2LT RS Camaro.

I think that I am fine with either car, and I can always buy a Camaro as my second car in a year or two. It's like choosing between 1a and 1b. They are both good choices, but really the G8 may better suit us as a daily driver.

I'm going to think hard and long this weekend.

Was your intended 2LT auto or manual? If it was auto, the G8 may be a good fit for you. I had one on order last summer, but pulled out at the last minute to wait for the camaro. Sometimes I regret it, though I usually don't. Do you have any kids? Those GT's are no slouches, you should test drive one.

The G8 GT is a great car. Really, you get near-Camaro performance with much more room for about the same price. Not too bad.

It will be my wife's dd. Sometimes she takes grandkids to school and of course it would be handy if taking another couple out to eat, etc.

G8's remind me of a GTO with a face lift and 4 doors.

Ither way we'd still accept you.

Dude...I was right there with you...except on a 2008 model. I tell ya, they are gorgeous and they MOVE! It was tough, but I knew I'd hate myself if I actually bought it and the Camaro came out later on even better.
