I like my automatic, but you can feel the restrictions that the transmission gives. If it's your daily driver go for the automatic.

If this wasn't America, you better Fing believe you would be wrong! So arnt you lucky.

Stop and go driving doesn't bother me, but I do hate stop and go when your on a hill! You really do feel more connected to the car and I actually think driving a manual makes you a more alert driver. Congrats on your choice for the Auto, you'll enjoy it and who knows maybe someday you'll do your own swap!
Okay, there is a major con right there........HILLS!!! That is the one thing that I have to admit can suck with a manual......try getting caught in a traffic jam on a hill....where it's stop and go every 5 seconds and there is a car 4 feet behind you.......it's so scary it can be hysterical.

It is more fun to drive a manual when I'm on open road, but it sucks sitting in traffic with a stick. It's all personal preference in the way you drive, and how much traffic you plan to sit through. I picked a stick because I think it's more fun and a bit of a challenge while racing, but if you miss a gear, you lose!

I just don't like manual transmission. I ain't gonna be racing this car with other cars, it is a car to appreciate what it can do for what it is and I'll get it up way over 100, but will do it the way I want to do it, lol.

I gotta say, automatic is way easier, but standard is way sexier-especially in a camaro!

The auto is quicker in real life overtaking situations. Take a look at the 30-70mph numbers.

Which for me would be the automatic as I was never fortunate enough to learn how to drive a standard (fluidly... I could do it if I HAD to)... My gut initially told me to order the manual and suck up the embarrasment of squeeling the tires and killing it multiple times just to get it out of the parking lot. However, nowmy gut tells me to order the automatic... I'm ordering it in Richmod, VA even though I live in OK.
I was just wondering if anyone may have some helpful advice on the issue, perhaps there are perks to one vs the other?!

Thanks in advance!
I ORDER 2SS/SR BLACK WHITE STRIPES SUNROOF AUTOMATIC TO.IT FITS THE WAY WE ARE GOING TO USE THE CAR.

Just taught my wife to drive a stick today....on the new Camaro. It was a little tense, but she picked it up quickly. Now I'm in trouble. I'll be lucky to get to drive my car again.

I do still agree that a "true" muscle car has a manual transmission, mine just won't, lol! It wasn't an easy decision, but I honestly think that it is the right one for me. Thank you again for all the advice and stories!

Oh a side note, as of 4:30 this afternoon I ordered a 2LT/RS, Rally Yellow w/ Black racing stripes, sunroof, automatic transmission. Now the REAL journey begins... SUCK MAN!!! I want it NOW!
Manual would have been smarter and more fun. I drive my manual cars in New York City 5PM Bumper to Bumper EVERYDAY, it becomes second nature and you even forget you are doing it. All the traffic excuses are BS, people are just lazy.
