So, I was driving to work today and finally see a Camaro on the Chevy lot. I rolled up to it and didn't see a price tag. Of course a salemans comes running out and tries to give his lines. but all I wanted to know was the price. He told me the price and I started coughing and fell back into my Ford and drove away. Wow, 36K for a RS!!!!!

Where are the honest guys...I walked into my Chevy Dealer 3 weeks ago and they had just gotten in a SIM 2LT RS. Sticker 29,965. I paid $29,965 and of course plus tax. It never was even an issue. God Bless my dealer I guess. I have another one on order....a 2SS I am assume it will be sticker too. Honest dealers rock

Go in the back yard...pick up a dog turd....spray paint it gold. Take it down to the dealer and offer a trade.

I was just traveling in Denver when I saw the local Chevy dealer had a black 1LT outside with $37,995 in big bold numerals covering up the sticker. I had to stop & when I did I asked if this was their only Camaro to which the saleswoman said no we have an SS inside. It was a 2SS RS no sunroof with $ 47,995 and did say +$10,000 Denver metro market adjustment. It did have Beige leather interior which was nice - first one I've seen.

Right then a mom & her son came in to look at the car & said wow they didn't know the Camaro would be so expensive. I clued them into what the dealer was doing & said I paid MSRP so shop wise - the son was grateful as it looked like they're shopping for his graduation present. The dealer is Ed Bozarth in Lone Tree. Shame on them - it's stunts like this that drive potential Camaro customers away.

Hell I didn't get RS package but got IOM 2SS and only paid $1500 more.

Unfortunately it is the uninformed or kids with stupid, rich parents that are willing to pay 10k over MSRP that drive dealers to pull these stunts. As long as there's some whiny brat with money to burn that absolutely must have the next new thing first there will be dealers doing this. Thankfully we have an advantage of being part of a great community that can help us avoid these "swindlers."

Yea there was a dealer in Houston selling a base LS with floormats as the only option for 35 grand. Gougers are out there.

Not to mention you can get a brand new 2010 Mustang base for about 19 grand.
