Question about CEL codes. HELP!!!
Hello all. About a month and a half ago or so I installed (or had them installed ) BBK long tube headers. Shortly after I got a CEL, no biggie, its expected right? Anyway, ordered the trifecta tune and uploaded it last night. Started the car up and took it for a spin. CEL was off. Car really felt great, all is well.
Go to work today and the CEL comes back. Decide to check the codes with EZflash and they came up as follows. P0300 Cyl misfires P0302 Cyl 2 misfire P0305 Cyl 5 misfire P2187 System too lean at idle bank 1 (symptom of the LT headers?) P2189 System too lean at Idle Bank 2 (same?) I had never received any CEL till I installed my BBK long tubes. When it popped up I didn't think anything of it knowing that it would be due to the o2 sensors. Are these other codes normal for long tubes or something I should get checked out? The Cylinder misfire codes are kinda freaking me out. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! |

Did you get the ghost cam feature?
I believe some users have gotten misfire codes with that. After you datalog for BNR, I'd re-program with that feature turned off and see if this problem returns. |

Are you running a good catchcan to keep the oil out of the combustion process? That will lead to missfires as well over time, and a failing MAF.
Send BNR a log and he can help. |

Yes I am running a catch can. Got that installed the same day as the longtubes actually. Ill datalog asap and email bnr. Question though. Im suspecting that this may be happening at cold start. It sounds a little funny when I first start it at the beginning of the day after sitting all night. Should I datalog from cold start? Is there anything in particular you want to see in the log?

email it to me at customersupport@badnewsracing.net (make sure if you didn't use the newest version of ezflash that I put up there a couple days ago, that you download it from my site and re-log)

Oh God please don't bring that up
How does the car drive, mainly when the rpms raise (like when accelerating) ? Does it misfire then? If so I'd say it's your MAF going out.

Had the oil changed two weeks ago or so, so I doubt its that. But I'll check anyway.
The only time I hear any kind of misfire is on cold start. Which sounds to me like a short sputter maybe? Then it warms up for maybe 30 seconds at 1000 or so rpms then goes down to 800 ish as normal and idles fine. It started doing that when i had the headers put on. I figured it was normal behavior with the headers. Anyway, other than that it runs normal. I'm taking it to my dealer Friday for some other minor work so I'm probably going to have them check it out while its there. Just in case. Hoping I hear back from bnr beforehand with some good news. |

Had a vacuum leak. Took care of it and all CELs went away.
