Plug or Patch

One of my Pirelli's picked up a big screw. I assume this needs to be taken to the tire shop and patched from the inside vs a plug.

Also, anything the tire shop needs to be aware of with a wheel that has TPMS?

Thanks.........

REPLACE

Is it front or rear?

Evaluate the mileage on the tires... if they are more than 1/2 worn, look for a used tire on here or elsewhere. They are easy to come by. I had to do that. I wouldnt trust a patch/plug. I know it sucks but its better to be safe.

have plugged many a tire in my day, never had a problem with any. If I were you, I'd just do it myself. $5 and your rolling again.

You cannot "plug" a pirelli p zero tire. They have to be patched. Trust me, I had a screw in my tire and found out the hard way when I tried to plug it myself.

Check your dealership. I ran over a large tack type nail and took it to my dealership. I bought the tire and key replacement package for an extra $5 a month so I wasn't charged but it still would have only cost $7- $13 for the plug/patch so not bad.

Patch it with a mushroom patch from the inside. A mushroom patch is a patch that will also fill the hole in the tread. Just remind them you have TPMS sensors and to be careful.

THIS ^^^^^^

I've had one of these in a front tire since about a week after I got the car, 24,000 miles later and no problems. I did, however, pick up another screw in the same tire about a month ago while on vacation, so I think its probably time to invest in a new set....The rears are wore out anyway.
