ABL Light Pipes

As the original source for these has recently dried up, we have found a second source for a very similar product.

We also have a flexible version that can be used for other applications. The minimum bend radius is about 1.5"

Continuous can be free-cut and works well for shorter lengths.

Tuned is for longer lengths and has a special pattern to minimize dimming in the middle. These can be cut, but, equal amounts should be taken from each end.

Expanded can be free-cut and is for flex applications where there are multiple bends which would make alignment difficult.

Sized for no-drill ABL mod (LED's under panel, not behind dash).

Note that 2013+ cars require three holes to be drilled into the dash to pass the LED's through.

Complete Dash Kit - from $71

I already have mind done. BUT...I'd LOVE to see one of these in person!

Will you be selling the light pipes with LED's included? ...that match GM's lights?

Or, is it just the light tubes.

BTW, these look MUCH brighter than the GM ones. Is that how they are or is that the LED that makes it look that way???

Last question. Does the back have a ridge which amplifies the light?....like the original Tyco light pipe?

This is just for the pipe, but, we can get LED's, too.

Not sure how these compare to the originals.

There is a feature on the back for directing the light.

That's the most important part, IMHO....the "ridge" that runs the length of the light pipe. This ridge is what amplifies the light out in one direction from the tube (long ways). That's the part that shines upwards and hits the dash creating the light effect from behind the dash applique. If you've seen the back of any 2LT or 2SS door which has the ABL, you can see the light pipe and see what I mean.

Hopefully....it'll have this. If it does, you are 100% on the right track for ABL to be done the right way!

I have a piece of tyco light pipe in my glove box. I can take a picture to show you what Tag is talking about.

Go ahead and post it. Let's see if that's going to be the same light pipe.

I talked with Brandon Kasprowicz from Digi Key over the last couple days trying to find if they could get the light pipe. He said that it would basically have to be a VERY large order for them to place the order with TC Communications. I wonder if they could even order them....probably not.

Thanks, but, we have seen the TE light pipe, just not when they were powered.

As I said, these do have a feature for directing the light.

Can I put my name down for the pre order? I figure I'm going to need like 8 feet.

I just have some ideas. You said yours is flexible, can you post a video of you bending it?
