Keep stuff from bouncing around in the trunk. It's handy, doesn't hold much but you drop a few bags of groceries or booze and it stays put.

Actually, looks like you have it mounted upside down. Spyderbuddy has it correct. The "double banding" that you show at the bottom is actually the opening for the netting and mounts to the four "clips". There are a total of 6 "clips to use, 4 at the top, 2 at the bottom. The clips screw into place to hold the plastic trim in place but can be backed out slightly to change the alignment to be more friendly to holding the net in place (I turn them so they are all vertically aligned. Aaaaaaand I notice this is a necro thread ... so the OP and Number_3 may not even care about this thread anymore ... |

You learn something new every day. I've had a cargo net for about 2 years now and never knew there were hooks on the very back of the trunk to hold it open. I need to go to my car right now and try this out.
