Question iPod troubles

I have a second generation iPod and when I plug it to play in the Camaro it works for a little but a message comes up on the screen and it doesn't recgonize the iPod after that???

Is it just that my iPod is to outdated and I need to get a new1?
Has nebody else run into this?... sorry i don't have the message it reads out on the deck im at school right now and my Camaro is a garage queen for the next month haha.

It depends on how your playlist is set up....try playing the first song on your master list as if you were going to listen to it through the headphones then plug it into your car while its playing. You should be able to search through the radio like normal. I also get the same thing when i scroll too fast through the songs...wait for the song to begin to play before changing it. I know its frustrating but follow these simple rules and you will be fine. I have not had a problem since.
