4.10 OTD Install Price
Was quoted a price (SE Michigan) of $1,000 to perform the Richmond 4.10 gear install.
Parts ($518), labor ($400) & tax/oil ($82) - install timeframe was 6-8 hours..... Does this price seem reasonable????? Any quality shop referrals from the Detroit area to perform the gear swap would be appreciated..... |

$400 seems reasonable for labor. and i guess the parts price depends of the make.

Thats a great deal. I was quoted more to do mine. How is the shops rep? What about follow up service. I know that I would be glad to pay the extra for mine just because the shop is great, the lead wrench is a master with the cars, and any problem I have is taken care of ASAP! Not to mention the shop I use is Jannetty!.

Looks like I need to do more research & homework.....if you don't mind, what is the preferred Make & what is the significant difference between a half & full kit?
This is one area I am not looking to shave costs & go cheap, however, mention 2010 Camaro to some shops & all they see if a big pile of $$$$$$$$$$$$ to be made. |

Richmond is the standard in the gear industry and who we generally use. Full install kits include everything needed for the install and include all new components. Half kits don't have all the bearings and seals and reuse some of the stock parts. Half kits are a way to save some money but I personally like having all new parts that are broken in with each other.

Check out advanced performance on 13 and grosebeck they did richmond 3.73's for me for $940 out the door. Your price sounds pretty fair considering your going with 4.10's
