i don't think it looks hideous, but it does not look like a Corvette. chevrolet has incorporated Ferrari elemnts into the Camaro and Corvette before, but not so blatantly. That car just looks like a bunch of different cars thrown together. And a Camaro should emulate a Corvette, not the other way around (the rear)
why didn't they just do the Stingray concept?! |

it's a concept car. they can still build a production version like it with better dimensions.

Don't worry it will grow on you, I remember a ton of bitching about stupid crap before the 5th gen Camaro came out too.

I initially didn't like the Camaro when it came out, now I love it. HOWEVER, I hate the 'mouth' on the front fascia...

Wow...rez333 those renderings are absolutely gorgeous!!
I don't particularly have the same kind of hate towards the design in the video that many people seem to have, but I agree that it could be better. But those images are stunning. I hope someone at GM saw those.

Well those renderings make the Corvette look like a super car. They were also designed by an Australian.
I like how the hood slant at the front is similar to the Stingrays:
