I am going to be helping/doing mine. I haven't done one before and a friend of mine who happens to be a GM tech is going to be standing over my shoulder telling and showing me what to do. I've done some motor work in the past I just haven't done a cam yet.

Ya, no you don't have to the ac belt off! You simply roll it off with a small/medium pry bar turning over with a breaker bar. Ita the same way its installed aswell.

And for the record, this is a camaro forum. You will read about the best and worst scenarios. I've ran/installed multiple comp cams and have a night fury that was ground on a comp core. That is what they used before all this comp is bad blah blah blah. Texas speed still runs comp, just installed a 224/224 in a buddies truck. Shit does happen but look online and see how many other people have had issues. There has been a few but I don't think its as bad as this forum makes it seem. Just because its on the internet doesn't mean its gotta be true. If that's the cam you want I'd say go for it. Take your time installing it and you'll be fine. If it don't free spin in the block or install easy with little effort you'll know something is wrong way before you turn the key. Just my opinion

If it's a low mileage car I'd run the OEM lifters. No reason to pull the heads unless its a l99. And your eliminating vvt

same with me. only thing they would do was polish it at their leisure if i returned it. Said it wouldn't hurt anything to leave it as they failing around 5000miles in.

Cam started to chunk and sent metal throughout the engine. Eventually locked up my oil pump. Scratched every bearing In the engine. My lifters looked great. I almost didnt pull the cam out because they looked so good. Figured i was only 4 bolts away, might as well do it. Glad i did! Luckily my crank spec'd on the large side so they polished that and I set everything else up for boost.

Don't cut your belts off. Don't need to.

guys a 2010 is most likely in need of new belts anyway, and unless the engines coming out the belts a walk on and it is not good to pry off belts, our belts are thin serpentine not v belts and are very crackable, and belts are not really that spendy...... if you can afford a cam why not do the belts at the same time your doing the oil pump and the timing chain? think bout it the belts are four to five years old and how many miles in what heat and in what shape?

Dude, it's only an A/C belt that's on the front of the engine and easy to access. It's not like if it breaks it requires a full engine rebuild. I did my cam at 28k miles. That's not a point to replace a belt. It's a waste of $40.
