No, we want it fixed before the recall is even thought about.

Otherwise why isn't there a public emergency bulletin throughout the press warning all owners to immediately cease usage of their Camaros? I'll tell you why. Because logic and sanity are becoming a thing of the past.

AND because it makes too much sense. All I want to do is take home the car I have waited months for. Recall it the next day...fine...no problem. This attitude is going to cost many sales and loyal GM customers. In my case 50 years of GM...about to go away.

Let me put it this way...what if they told ALL that have Camaros to STOP driving them? What would you do? It would raise a roar heard in Detroit.

BUT they have told those of us that have ordered them and spent money or are shopping on lots that we can't buy one. Nobody cares and no body listens.

I have tried to contact customer service with no success at all....they are ignoring us. They haven't informed dealers of the program or expected dates to get new keys. There is NO recall data on the GM recall site when you input VIN numbers.....they are doing nothing and we are paying the price for it.

why didn't you reply "today, where's my keys?" If he really hadn't heard about it yet, he might have let you have it.

I agree the recall is rediculous and there's nothing dangerous about the keys, but I think they'd be in some pretty serious legal hotwater if they publicly recalled a car based on a supposed safety issue, then continued selling them unfixed. Somebody would wrap one around a tree and end up owning GM for knowingly selling a faulty car.

Production shutdowns and stop sales until the ones on the lot at the plant and dealerships are fixed areroutine with recalls, its not like they're singling out camaro owners.

Just once to check it when we bought the car.

Will come in handy if the battery is ever dead though.

Hey guys. Has anyone brought their car in for this? Reason I ask is I'm in the process of purchasing my Camaro from a private seller who only got 1 key from the dealer when he bought it. Any chance you think they will let me keep the only key I have as a spare? The switchblade is way cooler and unless you're a giraffe I can't see anyone's knee hitting the key unless their chest is in the steering wheel.

I bet they will change the key cylinder so your old keys don't work.

I bought a 14 SS this weekend. Didn't know about the stop sale until the papers were signed. I wasn't very happy with not being able to take the car home. Well I got the call tonight saying I can pick it up tomorrow. I will post on what they did or didn't do when I leave the dealers lot.
