review on the stereo.

The wife and I ordered the 2lt rs auto. Anyone want to give a review on the Boston Acoustic System, no sub. Thanks for any input.

I'd say its as good or better than the Bose in my wifes car. It's not a booming bass that'll rattle your teeth, but its a real sweet stereo.

i sat in one at a texas rangers baseball game last night, turned the radio on 15, closed the door, and you could hear no outside noise at all. there was a loud band playing that was completely canceled out. with out the radio you could hear it but it was very very muffled.
the sound quality was pretty good from what i heard for the 2 minutes i listened to it. my favorite feature is how you can turn it on with out a key at all.

Best move I ever made. Its an awesome system. I love to crank it up and rock out! The bass is not too bad either not the kind that rattles your brain but just enough to get you jammin.

The stereo was one of the big reasons I shed away from the camaro. The lack of any aftermarket ability is just crazy imo.

If you want my honest opinion, I'd rather have a kenwood or alpine deck instead. The menus and buttons on the head unit are not very user friendly. The speakers are okay but there is hardly any bass. Of course we add subs, so that's not an issue now. I listen to the radio a lot and there is a lot of noisy hiss that I can hear and the reception is not very good. I can tell a big difference when I flip over to a xm channel. The xm channels play much clearer and with a sub, it is soooo much better.

PS. I still think that you should have the option for steering wheel controls on a 1ss or 1lt for that matter. Just because you didn't want to pay 4 grand for leather seats doesn't mean that you intended your car to be a stripped down model. I paid extra for the RS pkg, why couldn't we upgrade to steering wheel controls for a small fee?

Yes, it needs a sub in the trunk. Trying to find a side box/amp/etc...

Boston Acoustic Sux

I couldn't stand that system and started rippin out pieces as soon as I got the car. I replaced the fronts with Diamond Audio D662. With the Diamond Audio D3500.4 amp on them. Added Subs in the trunk 2 Diamond Audio D310d4. with a Diamond Audio D3600.1. Sounds way better now but still waiting for a dash kit to be made so I can put my Pioneer Premier Avic-F90Bt in. As soon as I get the kit I'll post pics. I should have the prototype hopefully soon. The actual kit should be available by CES in january. I'll keep ya'll posted.
