6l80 capacity

I just installed a new tru-cool 40k into my car while the motor is out, decided to also put in a summit racing 3000 stall converter that is already put on the transmission with half a quart of fluid in the converter.

The transmission is currently at the normal fluid level it would be at when stock.

My question is how much extra fluid do I need to put in to compensate for the new converter and the new 40k cooler?

It's a pain.. you have to get the trans upto 150 (I think.. need to check the actual temp required). Put the car in drive and reverse to fill the clutches..
Then pull the level check plug which is buried beneath the cross member..
The fluid level is correct when fluid is barely dripping out of the trans..
Some people like to have 1 quart more than this point.

Get the JRE dip stick. That will be your best bet...
