Auto v. Manual

The last word(s) to the age old debate.....

seems it's a matter of time before the manual is obsolete-ified... it's in the obsolification process as we speak... this guy is my new hero

I have no idea what he said, but I like talking pictures. And, "I spy" a brake rotor!

BTW, here are the pics of our Jeep we are having to tear down due to the spark plug threads having broken off inside.

Got the extractor out but still have to try to get the threads out. Gonna try heating the hell out of it and if that doesn't work I'll have to take it somewhere. Not sure what they'll do but I assume they can get it out.

SUCKED to open the head cover up and see the overhead cam.

Larger EZ-out won't do it?

Maybe when you heat it up, put some dry ice in the hole your first EZ-out made... make sense?

The bigger easy out grabbed the threads but I broke two extensions, a socket and a flex extension. They just won't budge. I used the smaller one thinking I was grabbing the cylinder head it's self. Which is why it ended up down inside.

Make you some dry ice plugs that will fit in the hole, heat it up and keep shoving the plugs in there till they don't melt so fast and hit it again with the ez-out. (Use Bonnies oven while she's out, but don't tell her it was my idea)

that's all I got

... you might call Norm, he's good with heat and hammers, I hear

Well, tried the super heating thing. Just couldn't get it to work. I think I'll give up. I need to have a shop do it. IF they can,

Bummer about the plug threads. How something so simple can cause such a major amount of work (and associated headache - ouch)

If all else fails, put some LS3 heads on your Jeep...
