Magnaflow comp exhaust?

I just installed a 16483 3" magnaflow comp series cat back today. I also have kooks LT and HF cats with cam. Any rpm under 2000 seems pretty loud inside the car, not so much outside. Above that it is actually quieter than the stock cat back. It is kind of annoying at highway speeds. The sound is much quieter if I shift down to 5th gear. Does anyone know how the 2 1/2" street series would compare in performance and sound to the comp. I actually prefer the sound of the stock cat back compared to the comp. Its almost to low of a tone for my liking.

It's the drone that's killing u now! There are threads for other exhausts that have fixed the problem. J pipes fixed It for me. I have a solo Mach x cat back with Lt's and a cam and I hear everyday how awesome my car sounds and after the j pipes it's almost as quiete as stock inside the car now but sounds so much meaner outside. Deep and mean.

That sucks, I did alot of reading and thought this was supposed to be drone free. I really don't want to cut the exhaust and start welding on it. Are there any bolt on solutions? I thought the x pipe was supposed to help eliminate the problem.

Many on here also state that the 3" catback will typically be more prone to done than a 2-1/2" catback as well.

I really don't want to sell my exhaust with 10 miles on it, but I may sell it and get the 2.5" street series. I hate to get an exhaust that restricts flow though.

I have 2 1/2 and it's not restrictive even with my long tubes and cam. I put down more power than a guy with similar mods ( different headers) and he had full 3". And on the dyno I put 8 more hp.

I was worried about cutting and welding on mine as well but any good muffler shop can do it no problem. With great results!! Plus u can't sell a used system for enough to justify not trying to fix it for just a 100 bucks or so at a muffler shop.
