Mine catches about 2-3 inches from the floor. Just a reminder that you cannot rush your shifts with these clutch/trans setup. If you slow your shift just a split second once your pedal is depressed you will be rewarded with a more positive shift and less wear on the Synchro's and friction disc.

Okay, one more to compare. This one is much more like my first one - catches nearer to the floor. As for the 2-3 shift, dont try to guide it - just push it forward and it will glide into third. Same with 3-4 - just bring it back.
4-3 does the same.

I have to press my clutch pedal all the way down.
Honestly, I think there is a quality control issue with these clutches, i.e. they are not all being installed properly and/or the same.
They need to adhere to some sort of standard.

It's funny you mention this OP, because when I briefly drive a friend's 1LE (snickerdoodle) that was built late 2012, the clutch would engage smoother and earlier than mine (built May 6).

This was however, when I had only about a hundred miles on my car. My clutch's feel seems to be improving with the miles.

Mine is at the top, almost let it all the way out before it engages.

Car built in April 2013....only need to depress clutch a few inches at most for engagement. makes it easy for quick shifts.

It's something I may look into... my clutch is something perfect for the track but for me at least, it is annoying on road especially in traffic or town.

Sent from the road.
