(More than once that rubber dam prevented me from laughing in my doc's face when he was working away. Yes, I was this messed up ---> )

Good luck.

all I can say is NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSS!!!!!!!

Root canals kill your tooth and eventually the tooth may break off. I've got two root canals several years ago. I know of two people where their teeth broke off years after the root canals. :(

I've only had one root canal. I had a very small crack in my tooth, and it took a year for it to be noticeable to my dentist, but I had horrible pain with anything hot or cold for that year. My dentist sent me to an endodontist. I was a nervous wreck, because I had only heard stuff like what PQ is saying here. It was exactly the opposite of what I expected. Yes, some jaw discomfort from having my mouth pried open for that long, but zero pain in my tooth, during or after the procedure. I'd have to say it was probably one of the better dental procedures I've had! Don't worry at all!

I've had 2 root canals that were then covered with crowns. Within a few years both teeth had to be pulled. I've had my last root canal. The pain during and after the procedure isn't all that bad, hell I lived with a vertically cracked tooth for 6 months, talk about pain. To me root canal is just buying time.

We all totally get what he's feeling.

That is awesome. NO WAY I'd have been able to maintain my composure if I were the dad.
