Launch control not working on new car

Hey guys, just picked up a 2010 SS manual about a week ago. I took it to the drag strip and it doesn't seem like my launch control is working. When in comp mode, there is no rev limiter with the clutch to the floor. It looks like it should be limited to 4200 rpms but mine just tached out the two times I tried it. Any ideas on whats going on? Thanks in advance!

In my 15, it limits at 5000 or 5500 I believe. quite high in my opinion. and you have to rapid accelerate up to that. not just press the pedal to floor if that makes sense???

Edit: Here is what my manual says and this is from a 2012 manual I found online

The Launch Control feature will
initially limit engine speed as the
driver rapidly applies the accelerator
pedal to wide open throttle.
A smooth, quick release of the
clutch, while maintaining the fully
pressed accelerator pedal, will
manage wheel slip. Complete shifts
are described in
Manual

Transmission on page 9
37

Not sure if the 2010's had launch control yet. It may have been introduced a bit later. I know my 2013 ZL1 has it.

Remember, if it does have it, you hit the traction control twice quickly to put it in Launch mode, then stop, push in the clutch and SLAM the go pedal to the floor quickly.

If you just press the go pedal, it'll just rev as normal right up to the rev limiter.

If your car does have it, and you slam the go pedal, the engine should rev up to a rpm calculated by the car based on temp, etc, usually around 3500 rpm or so.

Hmm, mine is a '10 and everyone ive seen shows them around 4200? I tried stomping it to the floor the first time and it tached out. Second time I slowly revved it and it went up to 6500 I believe. Who knows, kind of bummed. I wanted to try it and see how it would alter my 60' times.

The car will decide on what rpm it'll hold at based on several things including the outdoor temp.
My 20113 ZL1 normally revs to around 3500-3800 rpm with an outdoor temp in the 70's.

Really??? I tried mine over summer for the first time in the evening with it being about 85 and car was fully warm from the drive home. That's what it tached out too so that's what I assumed it was. Because I thought it would be much lower

No launch control on our 2010's... you need to do it the old fashion way...

Keep in mind that mine's a ZL1 and yours is a 1LE?
Might make a difference in what rpm it holds at ?
Also the temp. A ZL1's tires start losing traction as the temp gets down into the low 70's so that might also account for my lower launch rpm.

That's true. Possibly might make a difference then. I know that after I did it a few times, I considered getting an actual rev limiter to lower it.
Yeah, I think we have the same tires there though. Not sure, but I would assume yours is calibrated differently than my 1LE

My 11 SS M6 has it and holds RPMs and launches at about 4200 as the OP described. Too high IMO especially on the factory tires. Lotta wheel spin but I also didn't warm the tires first. I was surprised to find it as I thought it was a later model feature also.

Those saying the 2010 doesn't have launch control, why is that? I cant find anything saying it doesn't have it, only that it does on the manual model in competition mode.

I have always found it in the manual. Do you happen to have the manual? it should tell you in there if it does. I could only find back to 2012 in PDF with a quick google search

I do have the manual, I very quickly glanced through it and didn't see anything about the driving modes but I will have to re check. Google is saying the 2010 ss manual has launch control in comp mode, even vids of people using it on youtube so I assume it does have it.
