It means Super Sport. It's Chevrolet's version of other companies' Sport (S), Type-S, Type-R, Gran Turismo (GT), Gran Turismo-Sport (GT-S), Gran Tursimo-Racing (GT-R), Racing (R), Sport Vehicle (SV), and any other unmentioned platforms.
