Pics of Camaro Pace Cars and Race Cars @ Road America GrandAm/Nascar event

Here are the pictures I took on Saturday, June 23, 2012 while attending the Grand Am Rolex Sports Car series/Nascar Nationwide Series doubleheader racing event at Road America, the 4-mile road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

Two white Camaros were used to pace the Grand Am race. Both were used during the opening pace laps while the one with the camera gear and antennas was used during the race for the caution laps.

The Nascar race was paced by two red Camaros. Both were used on the opening pace laps and one of them was also used for the caution laps during the race. (I didn't get a close up look at these cars. I only saw them on track.)

I have also included pictures of the race Camaros that participated in the GT division of the Grand Am event as well as Camaros displayed throughout the paddock.

While I drove my 2010 Camaro RS up to the race, I didn't make it over to the special "Camaro parking area" this year, so maybe someone else who did could add these pictures.

I find it ironic that the Grand Am race was sponsored by "VisitFlorida.com" and the first two responses are from people in Florida!

Nice pics! Especially the one of Nelson Piquet, Jr., winner of the Nationwide Series race
following the pace car (black and green #30 Impala in the first set.) Thanks!

Those are nice wheels. Did you find the hidden valve stem?

That picture was taken on one of the opening pace laps. Nelso Piquet Jr. was also the Pole Winner, setting a new track record for the Nascar Nationwide Series cars.

Love the sign with "surprising fuel economy: 24 mpg/highway". Man would I be surprised if I got 24mpg. Is that highway all downhill with the car off?

I'm not sure, but I thought they are a Chevy option???? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
