I was at the Breakfast at the Chicago auto show and it was a great time. It was good see some of the 5th Gen members. The question and answer session seemed to helped to address some of our concerns. It was good meet Al, John and Scott.

Very cool Q&A, thanks for sharing!

So what do you think Al's opinion on the sunroof for the ZL1 is? I'd be willing to bet he's against it (and I'd agree if that's the case) but didn't want to say.

We're very lucky in Chicago that these guys were at the show and spent 2 hours with us. That was really cool. I did get some back ground info about going up to see the car before the show opened. Remember we were supposed to head up before 10. Well the show wouldn't let GM bring us in before the gates officially opened and I guess some GM staff really put up a fight for us. I think this really shows that GM has its consumers in mind. You don't hear many other car companies holding events like this. Thanks again to the Camaro team for today's event.

Interior Updates

The ZL1 is just great! Anyone knows whether some of this interior updates and back up camera will make it down to the SS LT trims?

The last thing is pricing? I don't believe that for a minute I don't care who said it. It's clearly meant to compete with the GT-500, so I'd expect it to fall in that general price range. They had to of had a general price range in mind from the start, what it would sell for versus cost to make.

Since you guys got up close and personal with it lemme ask you something. The front lip, side skirt, and rear valance in the black pastic it is now, does it looks cheap in person. I ask this because in some photos it looks good and other photos it appears cheap.
Another question that you might or might not be able to answer. I personal love the suede on the inside for 1 its function over leather and 2 its higher end look and feel. but it being an option what will be standerd? id assume leather in the same place the suede is.

Im soo looking forward to the day i can see this car in person.

Me too! I'm going Monday and am really excited. I plan to hang out at the ZL1 display for a very long time like some kind of weirdo stalker, lol.

"It is a track car. It is a drag car." Al Oppenheiser described the ZL1 as a machine intended to race. Those of you who get one will not be disappointed. When asked about what benchmarks GM had in mind, all three of them simply said that they want to be the best.

The_Blur you rock thanks for your post of the coverage at the show.

I have my deposit in at the dealership.

I believe it was Scott, who pointed out that really, they were not at liberty to point out much of what is happening behind the scenes for competitive reasons. Let's get real folks, this is a highly competitive market.

And really, how can they nail down the price until all the details and engineering is finished? Ain't gonna happen!

All of these companies are in competition with each other. One of the Team Members (I don't recall who) indicated that Ford was certainly looking at what the Camaro Team has done with the ZL1, and preparing thier response.

These are really pretty heady times in this segment of the Business.

Who would have guessed, back in 1977, that we would ever see cars with this kind of performance.

All I can say is, "WOW!"

you can bet the house they know!.it's just too early to release the info, since a build date is far off,and they really don't want to "tip" their hand,so to speak!
the "objective" is to stimulate interest for the vehicle,by making it an "event phsycological"..also,building a car like this will keep interest in the "regular" camaro lineup burning 'hot",and the "guinea pig" lz1 will continue to "generate"
sales!..people will see it,drool over it,decide they can't afford it,but will go after
say,the L.S,or maybe shoot for the ss beast!!..just sayin!
