Are hand held tuners worth it on a 2013 manual 2ss?

Looking for opinions as to if hand held tuners really make a difference and if so, which ones? I have a superchips tuner from when I had my g8, but they dont make a tune yet for my camaro.......

Handhelds are good if you don't really care if your combination is getting the maximum hp that it could. They are easier if its a 1 and done tune. Dyno tune is much better for the long run Bc most guys will eventually end up with a dyno tune before its over. Find a reputable tuner.

My dyno tuning for a bolt on vehicle cost about the same price as the toy handheld units.

Once you upload your canned tune from the handheld unit, all they are good for is clearing codes. You cant get the most out of your vehicle without wideband tuning.

I see them for sale used all the time for $150.00 bucks and I tell guys that spray NO2 to buy them so they can switch between track day spray tune and street performance tune.

I like the idea of a handheld for a few reasons...

1) you can keep your stock tune stored incase you ever need to go back.

2) you can store multiple CUSTOM tunes and switch between depending on what you are doing (you can have your custom tune loaded on to it as long as it is compatiable with whatever software your "tuner" uses

3) you can re-sell it down the road and recoup some of your money

4) depending on your mods and your goals it may be more then enough

As Birm already stated all of the good points.. We can take care of custom tuning via the Diablosport InTune, Predator, or Trinity programs.. You can PM Birm or I for details on pricing

custom tune is the only way to go, with something like hp tuners. ect. and imo it is worth the money. Good luck
