PTM will dumb down the 580HP to a level where the street tires on street pavement don't go up in a ball of smoke. Now how much horsepower would you like?

I'll hope to see these types of things.

I'm sure I'll think about them while I'm out passing Rustangs in my first year ZL1.
I'm with you on this one.

Doesn't this sound crazy buying one of the first ones and paying MSRP or above and knowing your getting less HP than the years to come.
Im still getting mine!

Well since I couldn't get a 2012, I hope they do up the HP. It will make the wait worth it. On the other hand I may just get a GT500 instead.

I expect some better options, different gears, different hood, more lights, maybe a few less pounds here and there, some tweaks to the magnetic ride, and some electronic gadgets. But overall, the car will be better than the previous year.
In that case i will wait for the 2059

Ever thought that's why it's a "limited" production in 2012.

With tuning, good cold air intake, exhaust and belts this car will do way over 600 and stick to the ground.

Why should it stay the same? Just so you feel better about your car? That seems kinda selfish. I already know I'm waiting until 2013. Because 2012's are so hard to get, the 2013 may have more HP, and the wait isn't that long.
If the GT500 out performs the ZL1 on the dragstrip and on a road course...expect to see a 600 HP+ 2013 ZL1.

Well, that's what I mean. If you constantly are worried about what it's going to be next year, then you will never get one.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I remember reading a post on this site stating the 6l90e auto trans was rated up to 560 ft-lbs of torque. If this is the case I don't see GM bumping up the power since they are offering the auto with this car. Unless they do like they did with the Camaro SS models and offer 2 different engines depending on tranny, but that would be unlikely IMO.

It's not a big deal to me if the 2013's have more HP then
the 2012's I can deal with it. I'm ready for this car now, not
going to wait for the latest and greatest of 2013. Going
to just have a big grin on my face, if I want more HP,
Mod it to what ever.

Well the 2013 Vert is still 580. So I'm pretty sure the coupe remains as 580.

HP is worthless unless you can put it to the ground. 580 is more than enough for most of us to get into trouble.
