I use a nice floor jack and four Goodyear 10 ton jack stands, ya a little bit of extra work each time but well worth the stability and safety to me

When I use the ramps I also position the jack stands where I'm working. You never know if one might decide to give out. My wife would bitch for a week if she had to jack the car up to free me.

You don't need jack stands. You only use them when you are using a hydro floor jack. With the ramps you use a wheel chock.

Someone is a little butt hurt! There is also no need for post police. So if you want to get technical, I use ramps to get on my lift.

Exactly. If you look at the post I was responding to you'll see the member asked why use ramps over a floor jack.

Race ramps are nice...but too expensive...and is too narrow for my rear tires.
I made my own ramps using wood - strong, cheap, and tailored for my cars.

I back on to a set of rhino ramps and then use a floor jack to raise the front and put it on jack stands. That gave me enough room to do anything I wanted under there easily, just installed LT headers with the car up like this and it was no problem at all.
