Loud Snap
Got in my car this morning, started it up, let it idle for a minute or so.. Put it in reverse started giving it a little gas while getting off the clutch..pretty basic.. The car didn’t want to move felt as if the e-brake was on but it wasn't. Gave it a little more gas and then there was this real loud snap. I got out and nothing was leaking or appeared to be broken. Car seems to run fine, no weird noises and it feels fine now but I'm still concerned.
I had washed my car yesterday and didn't move it after and it sat all night. I know my rotors always develop a little rust that comes right off after a little drive. Could that have locked the car in place like that? If not what else could it have been? |

It is probably the brake pads, mine has been excessively loud a time or 2.

Loud Snap
Mine has done that after sitting overnight with wet brakes. I make a point of driving around the block after washing and have not heard it again. I have seen the outline of the pad on the disk before.

Yep, did it to me once after washing too. Didn't make a noise though, it just didn't want to go at first, then it broke loose.

Every morning I get a pop. It's like the Pirellis are stuck to the cement in the garage. It sounds like they break loose.

yep....Its the disk brakes. My 86 Iroc did it often.....

 Deja Vu...same thing happened to me this morning. I put the car in reverse to back out of the garage and she wouldn't go any where. My husband finally got her to move...but I didn't hear a snap.
