Interesting. If it works I am sure it adds fifty hp.

Well I just got done tinkering with it... I can't say that it resulted in any kind of positive or negative change...
I was logging various throttle related items with HP tuners while messing with it. With the stock pedal, I could get the stock pedal position to 97-98% when flooring the pedal, I had to physically push the pedal to the point that I could feel it flexing to get to read 99% on HPT. I swapped in the new pedal. I hooked it up but left the sensor loose so I could see what effects rotating it would have while watching HPT. Basically, the stock pedal was reading the pedal position was at 19% while not touching it, I was able to rotate the sensor in the pedal up to about 23% without even changing the idle. At 24% the idle had jumped up 100 rpms. At 25% 200 rpms... With the car off, I could now easily achieve a 99% reading of the pedal position at WOT without feeling like I was trying to push the pedal through the floor. I found that it would somehow learn the new idle position that I would lock down the sensor in. I cranked it CCW as far as I could and tightened it down, idle was about 900ish... Rev it a few times and within a couple minutes, it had now dropped down to a normal idle but the pedal position still read 25-26%... So in theory, I removed 5% of "dead space" from the pedal, and I can easily reach a full throttle reading without punishing the pedal. Do I notice any difference on the street? Nothing conclusive? I have never noticed this "dead spot" you guys complain about anyway, TPS still reads only 84% I'm going to leave it like that, getting rid of about 5% dead space seems good in my mind, and not having to push the pedal through the floor to actually see WOT is good. Sorry it's not more exciting. I guess I'll have to buy into the hokus-pokus like all the rest and buy a throttle controller. |

Jason,
What type of camaro did you do the testing on? SS or V6? Auto or manual? There are 2 types of throttle delays to my knowledge. 1 is how fast the throttle responds while you are pressing it already and floor it (this type of delay is more like a sensitivity issue) And 2, the delay in response when you are completely off of the pedal and stab it, the throttle takes like .5 sec to respond. That is on a manual car. I was hoping you would solve number 2.

Yeah I have an SS manual and there is definitely a big delay in pedal to when the rpms increase if this could be solved that would be amazing

Thanks for trying.
Just buy the Vitesse controller. You'll be surprised. Trust me.... They offer a 100% money back guarantee so it no big deal if you don't like it. Settings #7-9 are where it's at though!

Go for it Ruby ! A definite improvement for an A6. Best bolt on besides the IPF sc. I was on the fence but once I felt it I'm hooked !

I know some folks have asked about these two combos as well.

So far no impact to the SC, and no impact to the IPF tune either. Really does improve the lag in the throttle on takeoff and every time you shift. There goes the gas milage again !

Curious to see the results after a few weeks of "real world" driving.

I'm sad it didn't work the same way as the throttle controller.
Also wish there was something we could do in HPTuners to modify the settings and not have to rely on the 3rd party controller.
