How to tell the difference between painted and polished OEM 20's

So I have found some rims that I plan on getting this weekend but how do I tell if they are painted of polished? They came off a stock 2SS.

I got polished wheels off of a 2SS as well... I got them from a guy in Cali off Ebay, but if you have never seen them in person before its kinda hard to explain. The painted ones have more of a dull finish, polished is a lot brighter.

Here is polished...

Polished look almost chrome. The painted are kinda shiny gray.

To my eye, those appear to be painted non rs rims.

yes, you can get the rs on any LS or SS... like rage says. All SS's have the silver painted, the SS/RS's have midnight silver painted, and any SS can opt for polished rims as an option.

When I was visiting the dealer it was somewhat difficult to see the difference between silver and midnight silver, unless I was standing where I could see both wheels at the same time. Polished is really easy to identify, very bright/shiny. Silver is pretty simple, just the same silver on most other wheels from GM.

I dont know if thats the case, I was under the impression the midnight rims were just a slightly darker shade of silver, with the whole rim painted no matter what the color.

Those are silver, not polished. From my understanding all the center caps are kinda polished, and from what I can see in the picture, the wheels are a shade different than the center cap.
