That is describing the one that was there. They would make it multiple colors I am sure.

I agree I want an LS7 based Z28. How does the 1LE cheapen the look of the ZL1, cause it looks like a Camaro? It has the SS front end and hood the most distinguishable parts of the car. That being said, the original ZL1 looked like a basic 6 cylinder Camaro. |

I want to see original parts made for the car. Different bumper, hood, diffuser, and a low wing spoiler. I guess more racy looking like the Boss Mustang.

Just for reference the a 2011 Boss turned a 1:40.71 at Laguna Seca while a 2010 SS turned a 1:45.70. The 1LE will not have much more power than a SS so will the rest of the goodies close a 5 second gap? I don't think so. JMHO |

Yes that's my concern as well. We don't need to blow the Boss away (the sum (stats) of its parts are incredible), but we must be competitive. |

The 1LE, executed as described above, would be a more worthy direct competitor to the "Base" BOSS...priced @ low $40s...Ford's VOLUME BOSS. Once there's a 1LE Package in place, earning its way in the world, it is a MUCH shorter step to create a Z/28-type version, placed between the 1LE and ZL1...just as the BOSS LS is between the BOSS and GT 500. If there wasn't a BOSS (for volume) there would NOT be a BOSS LS... If there isn't a 1LE, there may NOT be a Z/28, regardless. I can see the 1LE as a "stepping stone" for the volumes GM requires to potentially build from... Last edited by LOWDOWN; 02-10-2012 at 01:21 PM. |

#2 There are two versions of the BOSS. The LS runs on R compound tires. #3 There are three versions of Camaro suspension for this discussion. FE3, FE4 and FE5. #4 There are two versions of brakes for this discussion 4 pot Brembos all round and 6 pot front 4 pot rear. Unless the SS lap time was run with a FE5 suspension and 6 pot Brembos we are talking about very different Camaros. Hell an FE4 SS would be faster than a FE3 Camaro on track. I think the 1LE vs the BOSS is a driver's race. The Same is true for a 1LE vs the BOSS LS as long as we fit R compound tires to the 1LE. |
