What are easy 3.4L mods for my car then.
I have a 1994 Chevy Camaro V6 3.4L Car. I have been having problem after problem with this thing and Its really pissing me off. I have been thinking about how I should of bought a z28 Instead because they will be a heck of alot faster and I wont have to lose races. I dont wanna put a whole lot of money Into my car I have 2250 Into the car and I dont wanna put any more then 2500 Into the car because where I live they sell for around two thousand any day so I cant get much money back that I put Into the car. I am looking for small easy mods to Improve performance and I dont really wanna pay over two hundred dollars for a cold air Intake either for the car. I have about two hundred dollars to work with and I am wondering If anyone here knows of any easy mods for this car. Or If ya have modded ya own 3.4L post pictures I would like to see the car. I guess I Just need confidence In my car because Im kinda mad Its only a 3.4L and doesnt have much power and practically any money I put Into the car I cant get back because they dont hold there value much where I live but the z28s hold there value quite well. Um post pictures of ya car or mods etc. Then.

I don't think the word "then" means what you think it means.
Anyway... You're kind of in a bad spot. The easy answer is simply not to put any money at all into the car. Deal with it the way it is until you can sell it and get what you really want, which seems to be an LT1/LS1 Z28. But, that's not what you asked. So, here's my advice. Buy used at a good price and keep your stock parts. That way when you sell the car, you can put it back to stock, and sell the used parts for almost what you paid for them. CAI is probably the best place to start. For what you want to spend exhaust mods are out. Honestly, most mods are out. CAI is a fun mod, you can do it yourself, you get some instant gratification (they almost always SOUND better, even if you can't feel a significant difference), and if you get a good price on a used one, you'll get your money back out of it.

Well brotha, I hate to tell you but I think you are kind of stuck. You will be hard pressed to find any real performance mods for the price you are looking for. Like already said, just save your money for down the road and when the time is right, step up to what you're really looking for.
Keep checking things like Craigslist and eBay and maybe a cai will pop up and you can grab it. Good luck and enjoy what you have and look forward to what you can do in the future. Do research in the mean time on what car you want, what the costs are and plan out future mods. That will save you time and money in the long run and its fun to dream, and work to make it happen. |

A 3.4L engine is NOT worth modding. They are ticking time bombs. We learned about these engines in school and found that they were junk. I think thats why the low numbers produced. Don't put a dime into it. Its one of the worst engines from GM.

I'm going to have to agree with most here and say 1) save your money for gas, there's no point in modding the V6. That's not what it's for. I don't necessarily agree it's a terrible engine, the wifes grand am wasn't bad, but it's definitely no powerhouse. 2) you really don't have the money for mods that would make a difference anyway. Unless you can weld and get cheap steel to make your own exhaust and headers, you're pretty much out of luck.
My advice would be to save up that extra 2500 you're talking about, sell the v6 car for 2k and pick up a v8 3rd gen.

I was thinking either a 88-92 body style or the 93-97 f body ones then but Im not sure what would be better as far as speed or weight then.

4th gen is much faster than any 3rd gen stock for stock.
