Thumbs down M6 Tranny issues

Just left my dealer with news that my 2SS/RS 6M transmission that was supposed to have been at the dealer a week ago is now being delayed for mechanical issues with the transmission. Dealer did not have much information other than it was not coming this week. Bummer!! For those that have received your babies, have any of you with 6M transmissions experienced any problems and what did your local dealer do about it? Any information you can provide is appreciated.

You mean other than that pesky problem where the tail shaft snaps during launch.... NOPE! What's your VIN?

There's a known tail shaft problem for the M6 tranny but that specific problem is supposed to be liimited to low 16k VINs... I'll be honest, and say that Im at 2k miles and havent tried the Launch Control... and im a little skeerrred!

Other than that, I havent heard of any other problems.

Hopefully GM will be able to solve this problem soon so they can release my car. Is the tranny in the Camaro new or did they pull it from another GM product? I thought the tranny was a proven one and did not expect to see this type of problem right out the gate. Hopefully the Camaro does not end up with reputation of having numerous problems before they reach the owners.

The tail shaft issue isn't limited to only the low 16k vins..

I don't think that is an accurate statement. If you're not in the now let's not spread misinformation please. I know you personally have had issues with 2 seperate Camaro's, but that doesn't mean every single M6 does. Thanks
